Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: January 13, 2026
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of services by Miles Chimney Sweep (referred to as “we,” “us,” “our,” or the “Company”) to you (“you,” “Customer,” or “Client”). Our primary contact number is 866-309-2130.
By booking, scheduling, or accepting any chimney sweep, inspection, repair, or related services from us, or by using any associated website, phone booking system, or other means of engagement, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
1. Services Provided
We provide professional chimney sweeping, inspection, cleaning, maintenance, and related services for residential and commercial chimneys, fireplaces, venting systems, and associated appliances.
- Services typically include removal of soot, creosote, and debris; visual inspection of accessible chimney components; and basic reporting of conditions observed.
- Services follow industry standards (such as those recommended by the Chimney Safety Institute of America – CSIA – where applicable), but are limited to accessible areas unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We do not guarantee complete removal of all contaminants, odors, or hazards, especially in cases of severe buildup (e.g., glazed creosote) or pre-existing damage.
Additional services (e.g., repairs, liner installation, cap installation, video scanning, or removal of animals/nests) may require separate quotes and agreements.
2. Appointments and Scheduling
- Appointments are scheduled based on availability and are confirmed via phone, text, email, or other communication.
- We aim to arrive within a scheduled window, but delays may occur due to traffic, weather, prior job overruns, or unforeseen circumstances.
- Cancellations or rescheduling: Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a fee (typically $75–$150, depending on circumstances).
- If access is not provided (e.g., locked gate, no adult present, unsafe conditions), a trip charge may apply.
3. Payment Terms
- Payment is due upon completion of services unless other arrangements are made in advance.
- We accept common payment methods (cash, check, credit/debit cards, etc.). A service charge may apply for certain payment types.
- Estimates are approximate; final pricing may vary based on actual conditions discovered during service (e.g., additional creosote levels, multiple flues, repairs needed).
- All prices are subject to applicable sales tax.
- Late payments may accrue interest at 1.5% per month or the maximum rate allowed by law.
4. Customer Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide safe, clear access to the chimney, fireplace, roof, attic, crawl spaces, and electrical outlets (including a dedicated 20-amp circuit if required for equipment).
- Ensure pets are secured and children are supervised.
- Inform us in advance of any known hazards, unusual conditions, or modifications to the system.
- Not use the fireplace/chimney until any recommended repairs are completed if safety issues are identified.
5. Limitations of Liability and Disclaimers
- Chimney services reduce fire and carbon monoxide risks but do not eliminate them entirely. We are not responsible for pre-existing defects, improper installation/use of appliances, or issues in inaccessible areas.
- We are not liable for any damages arising from:
- Pre-existing conditions of your chimney, fireplace, venting system, or connected appliances.
- Your failure to follow recommendations or warnings.
- Indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages.
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
- Services are provided “as is” without warranties beyond those expressly stated. No guarantees are made regarding future performance, complete hazard elimination, or prevention of all issues.
6. Inspection Levels
We may perform inspections based on industry standards (e.g., NFPA 211):
- Level I: Basic visual/accessible check (often included with routine sweeping).
- Level II: More detailed (may include video scanning; additional fees apply).
- Level III: Invasive (rare; requires separate agreement).
Findings are based on conditions at the time of service.
7. Intellectual Property and Website (if applicable)
Any website, marketing materials, or content owned by Miles Chimney Sweep is protected by copyright and other laws. You may not reproduce or use it without permission.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [insert your primary state, e.g., Arkansas or applicable state], without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of [appropriate county/state].
